MSF-Technik Variable Speed Drives
MSF-Technik variable speed drives offer innovative solutions in decentralised drive technology. The basic concept of this technology is to produce a modular based system of wiring and controls that substantially reduces motor cabling requirements and site installation time. This is achieved by removing motor starters and controls out of a control cabinet and locating them as close as possible to the motor drives. Traditionally motor controls are all confined within a control cabinet and separate cables are used to power up each drive. In some cases these drives can be a long way from the control cabinet so long multiple runs of cable are required to connect the system. This adds cost in terms of materials required and installation time. In a decentralised system one power cable can be used to provide power locally to each motor. A second command cable can then be used to provide PLC and command inputs. Each MSF unit can either be fitted with a motor starter or variable speed controller. Again each unit is then capable of receiving signals and commands from any PLC of your choice. Photo-cells and other sensors are also connected locally on each unit to further reduce cabling requirements. MSF units can be used with any motor gearbox and PLC of your choice.
